Historical reenactment weekend 1914-1918

NOT TO BE MISSED: THE PARIS REGION’S NO.1 WW1 REENACTEMENT WEEKEND!

In the Museum’s gardens, visit a gigantic bivouac with more than 300 reenactors, vehicles and… animals!

There is plenty to see throughout the day, with bayonet fencing, a “Marne taxi” on the move, first aid for the wounded, with a donkey and a doc, quill writing workshops, war games, presentations of military equipment, and so much more!

Program for the 2024 edition

Saturday et sunday
In the museum park, the bivouac comes alive from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.!

  • 9:45 a.m. – Raising of the flag // 5:45 p.m. – Color dropping
  • Horseriding demonstrations in the demonstration area
  • Activities at the associations’ bivouacs
  • Presentation and driving of a Saint-Chamond tank with the Mémoire de Poilus association
    Presentation of Marne taxis (by Renault and Brice Bellier) and an ambulance
  • New: Sewing workshop, Cossack saber demonstration
  • Launch of the comic strip “L’ombre d’antan – Marne 1914 – Stories of the battle of Ourcq” + Dedications – In the presence of all the authors and illustrators.

Outside of the museum park 

Off-site free

The Saturday :
11 a.m. – Reenactor parade in the city center. Departure at 11 a.m. from Place Geoges Brassens (near the Market Hall) then travel to the city center. Stop at the cathedral then stop at Place Doumer (end at 12:30 p.m.)
On Sunday :
11 a.m. – Parade of reenactors in the Beauval district – under the “Verrière”.
2 p.m. – 2CV rally: Discover the Battle of the Marne 1914 circuit between the Pays de Meaux and the Pays de l’Ourcq aboard a collector’s 2 CV. Tasting of Brie de Meaux on arrival. (Duration 3 hours)
2:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.: Hiking supervised by Coderando 77. Attention, departure from Saint Soupplet Bois de Montgé
3 p.m.: VTC circuit supervised by Meaux Cyclotouristes: A 16 km loop between Meaux, Chambry and Barcy
